Vincent Van Gogh (1853—1890). “Landscape with Cypress Trees.” (London: Tate Gallery.) “Intense feeling for life.” “Makes you feel what the artist must have felt.” “Something behind, bursting through.” “An obvious joy to the painter whilst he was painting it.” “It depicts nature as seen by the artist and has no additions in an effort to increase its value as a painting.” “Is as virile as nature itself.”

WONDERFUL VETERINARY DISCOVERY—HORSES CURED OF COLIC IN A FEW MINUTES. A notable addition to veterinary science by Capt. H. W. Tate, V.C., of the French Army Blue Cross Veterinary Corps. The treatment, which goes by the name of "99 et Salvequine,” is injected, and is certainly a very valuable aid to the scientific treatment of animals. The illustration shows a veterinary officer, “somewhere in France,” making an injection of the mixture.
