DISPUTE BETWEEN THE WELLINGTON AND JOHNSONVILLE TROTTING CLUBS.
New Zealand Illustrated Sporting & Dramatic Review
22 October 1896

JOHNSONVILLE TROTTING CLUB.
New Zealand Illustrated Sporting & Dramatic Review
16 July 1896

Pattle, photo. JOHNSONVILLE BECOMING LINKED UP IN THE SUBURBAN GROWTH OF WELLINGTON. The growth of Wellington is illustrated by the panoramic picture given above, which shows the large number of houses that spread along the Main Trunk railway between Wadestown and Johnsonville in recent years. In the foreground Ngaio station is seen. Fifteen years ago it was known as Crofton, and very popular as a bush resort for picnic parties from the city. The linking up of Johnsonville with Wellington by a continuous array of houses is now within sight.
