Old Soldiers' Reunion at Ranana Mr Bob Tapa, who was in charge of the arrangements for the hui. Last March 200 Maori World War I ex-servicemen from all over New Zealand gathered at Ranana, on the Wanganui River, for their annual Hokowhitu-a-Tu reunion. There was a meeting on the Saturday, a reunion dinner and ball that night, and a dawn parade and church service the next day. On the opposite page we show some of the visitors who came to the reunion; on this page there are some of the local people who looked after the catering and other arrangements, no easy task for a small and somewhat isolated community, but one which was performed most successfully.
