Walter Smith's 'Beneath the Maori Moon' was recorded by former All Black George Nepia in 1936, and by Don McGlashan in 1992 for a film soundtrack. Smith himself recorded the song in the early 1950 s with his Aloha Orchestra and Nuhaka Trio. (ATL ref. B-K 477-cover)
