THE HAKLUYT SOCIETY

The Hakluyt Society, established in 1846, has published over 280 volumes of original narratives of important voyages, travels, expeditions and other geographical records. Each volume is placed in the charge of an editor especially competent to give the reader such assistance as he needs for the elucidation of the text.

Membership of the Society is open to all who are interested in the literature of travel and in the history of geographical science and discovery. Two volumes are distributed to members (free and post free) each year, and in addition members may purchase volumes in an Extra Series and back-numbers of volumes in the Ordinary (Second) Series at special rates. The annual subscription is £5.50 sterling (NZ$lO).
