GOOD GOD’S URGE
NME gave this 8/10 and said Perry Farrell is extraordinary. Maybe even a genius’. They unveiled this to us at this year’s Big Day Out. Farrell himself said in a recent interview that “Good God’s Urge is some of the best music I’ve ever done”.

ALL THIS USELESS BEAUTY
June’s Q said “it's Costello's most satisfying work since King Of America”. This man (currently co-writing with Burt Bacharach) is a genuine legend. Fans, as they say, will not be disappointed at all.

NANCY BOY If you want pop credentials they're here by the truckload. Donovan Leitch was conceived in George Harrison's house (his Dad is the Donovan). Jason Nesmith's Dad was a Monkee. They did their demos in Beastie Adam Horowitz' studio. They released an album independently in the UK before this release on Sire. This album’s been produced with Shel Tamy who worked with The Who, The Kinks and The Damned. And it’s bloody good too. Make sure you read the interview on page 8.

EVENTUALLY
Yes he was in The Replacements. The Replacements were called “America's Greatest Rock N’Roll Band" by Village Voice and “the greatest rock n’roll band in the universe" by Creem. And they did deserve those kind of accolades. The Chief Replacement even inspired some graffiti that went "There's a little bit of Paul Westerberg in all of us". Eventually is his second solo album and ably supports this theory.

MOVIE SOUNDTRACK
The movie is a thrill, directed by Jan De Bont (who did “Speed") and the soundtrack’s pretty fine too. The album features previously unreleased material from kd lang, Lisa Loeb, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Belly, Soul Asylum, Tori Amos, Van Halen and many more.
