BOURKE’S PEERAGE
Just had to write to thank Chris Bourke for his excellent coverage of our visit to the 1992 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, from the welcome at the airport by the brass band and the Neville family, to the party that night, the welcome and presentation of gifts at Tipitina's and, of course, the highlight for us, the performance of Moana and the Moa Hunters on stage at the Festival amongst many class singers and bands. I had to admit that I was very happy and impressed with the performance of our group, but I guess it can best be summed up by New Zealanders we spoke to after the show who said "They made us very proud to be Kiwis." We thoroughly enjoyed our days in New Orleans and special thanks must go to the Neville Brothers, particularly Cyril for making it possible for Moana and the Group to take part in the Festival. Thanks again Chris for your "Brothers and Sisters", you did an excellent job (can recall talking to to you at Tipitinas). Kia Ora, NEPIA MOANAPOTIO (Moana’s dad)
