JIVE BUNNY & THE MASTERMIXERS That's What I Like (Music Factory) 7"

That pesky rabbit comes back again with another mix of rock n' roll hits. Hey, I'm no snob and quite like this one because it's got Chubby, Eddie, Jerry Lee, Bill Haley, etc. A 10 year-old could have mixed tfiem together, that's why I like it. MEGADETH No More Mr Nice Guy (SBK) 7" Pretty close cover of Mr Alice's change of heart song, but disappointing coming from Dave Mustaine and Megadeath. Ifs real lightweight pop, and aimed at the radio. Must need to pay those rehab bills.

STEFAN DENNIS Don't It Make You Feel Good

(Central Station) 12" Well, the Commonwealth Games, it sure was a learning experience. So many role models in one spot. I was moved. Now, Mr Dennis is the investment banker bad guy in Neighbours and my favourite character, thinking that since Kylie and Jason have had hit records so why not him? The reason is he's can't sing, but sure has studied those 6ld Bowie records, and I got to thinking that maybe Rick Astley ain't all that bad. KOOLMOE DEE

I Go To Work (Jive) 12" He's starting to lose it to all the new jacks, but this one swings along. Usual subject matter, but Bryan 'Chuck' New and Teddy Riley heat up the beat. The flip side

features two classic tracks, 'How Ya Like Me Now' and 'Go See The Doctor', so it's worth it.

WHITESNAKE Fool For Your Loving (EMI) 7" This is okay, but a little on the Foreigner/ Styx side of things. One ofthose rock ballads designed not to offend. Good to see they've still got those poodles on their heads. PSEUDO ECHO Over Tomorrow (EMI) 7" Going for an updated Bay City Roller sound here, with a middle-eight that just don't stop, it goes into this slow bit a nd then takes off. It's one ofthose things that sounds better with a lit Bic overyour head. KATECEBERANO Love Dimension (Regular) 12" This came outa while ago but sounds more interesting now, with that Soul II Soul beat, and You Know You Got Soul'drum rolls. The Demented Mix is the best, with the fade-outs into the beat.

THE ANGELS Let The Night Roll On (Mushroom) 7" In the grand Australian tradition of Rose Tattoo and AC/DC,and now a seminal influence on Guns N Roses. This "seminal" track is about a roulette wheel, and going to hell on a Saturday night. Sounds fun. DUSTYSPRINGFIELD

In Private (Parlophone) 7" Wonderful simulation of an old-styled Northern soul stamper, it's the Pet Shop Boys'vision of disco heaven. I bet they got real excited when they made this baby, imagine Neil yelling "More strings! More strings!" Hey, it's great.

STONE ROSES She Bangs The Drums (Silvertone) 7" Hey dance music isn't the only thing knee-deep in nostalgia, like I've heard this

sucker before, it's the Monkees, right? Good old Mickey Dolenz is in their someplace. THEGAPBAND All Of My Love (Capitol) 12" From their Round Trip album, their best in ages. Sort of swingbeat, but saved from that by the Wilson brothers' big soul voices. Six versions, with 'Just Coolin' adding that little bit extra.

SOUL II SOUL Get A Life (10 Records) 7" Not on the album, but sounds exactly like it should be. Nothing that exciting

happening here, more a re-run, but there's still that beat that started a thousand re-mixes. Flip side has a new version of 'Jazzie's Groove', telling the history of the funky dreads. < . ADEVA I Thank You (Cool Tempo) 12" The third single from the House diva's solid soul album. This is a lot more pop orientated than most of her stuff and doesn't have the usual House boom-boom. Three mixes, with the original one standing out. REGINA BELLE Baby Come To Me (CBS) 7" Despite the attempts of Narada Michael Walden to paint the world schmaltz, Ms Belle comes off on top. I mean if nothing startling, and at first I dissed it, but after a few listens the quality stands out. Pity about the production. DJ JAZZY JEFF & THE FRESH PRINCE I Think I Can Beat Mike Tyson (Jive) 12" The boys are good at these sort of wish-fulfillment things. "No ordinary man could beat Mike Tyson but next he had to face a legend." Well, the Prince has a go, but Iron Mike shows no mercy. Good to listen to, but no real dance song as the beat gets broken up too much. But fun as usual.

KYMMAZELLE Love Strain (Syncopate) 12" Al Moody and Vinnie Bell get it going on, what a groove! Best pure funk dance record this month. Ms Mazelie has some great moments, but in a way she's just an adjunct to the groove. Lots of good bits on the dub mix, sounds flipping back and forth.
