The advance means that you'll be able to get unabridged single CDs of Prince's 1 999 and Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland soon ... The Who's Magic Bus album will be out on CD as will be The Who Sing My Generation, Happy Odds And Sods and Who's Last The vaults of Hi Records, which include Al Green, Ann Peebles and Willie Mitchell, have been opened to MCA for CD release ... a Motown exec has admitted that the label's Two-LPs-On-One-CD releases were sometimes rushed affairs with the result that many classic Motown hits sound better on the label's compilation CDs, which were done with more care... Sire is . planning a CD of cover tunes performed by some of its artists. The collection will include previously unreleased goodies like Echo & The Bunnymen singing 'lf s All Over Now, Baby Blue!'
