'No Idea'
Firstly, yes, No Idea did not play the Oriental on New Year's Eve — that statement was the result of misinformation received at the time, and later "confirmed” by phone from Auckland, / apologise unreservedly. But why do you omit to say that the band played at a party at Wynard’s from which, when that bit the dust people came to Chippendale House and tried to gain entry? Is that embarrassing information? I only made the comments about putting social pressure on violent individuals because No Idea profess to have, and have displayed, a reasonable degree of intelligence. Your legal advisor should have told you there was nothing defamatory in the review. The "respectable side of NZ rock” doesn’t have the problem in question — doesn’t"it worry the shit out of you that you continue to do so? The sizeable fuckwit contingent at the Windsor gigs hadn't ever showed their faces there before, so they could hardly have been banned. You do good things No Idea, and on your home turf I understand you have few if any problems, but what I saw worried me and I think it should worry you more. By the way, it was only "collective action” by about 20 members that kept the Chippendale House gig secure until after the Verlaines finished. RB
