1985 VdL A T ~ The Australasian Academy of Broadcast Arts and Sciences announces the 1985 ESSO PAN-PACIFIC SONG AWARDS FOR SONGWRITERS & PERFORMERS (a division of the radio industry’s annual Australasian Broadcasting Awards, the PATERS) IIM Australia and New Zealand’s official national and international song awards and the most prestigious songwriting and performance awards in the southern hemisphere! * 52 awards covering all styles of music in 32 categories divided into PROFESSIONAL and AMATEUR sections for: ~ (a) songwriters (b) new performers with the prestigious PATER trophies and prizes, sponsored by ESSO AUSTRALIA, through the Academy, with ANSETT AIRLINES, Pilkington ACI and other corporate sponsors. Last year the PATERS were presented at the Hilton International Hotel, Sydney, during a glittering gala evening networked on radio and covered by four television channels. The PRIME MINISTER OF AUSTRALIA, HON. R. J. L. HAWKE, presented the main awards, including ‘Song of the Year’, and other distinguished presenters included: PREMIER OF NSW, Hon. N.
