Nightclubbin'
That most fundamental of Auckland problems where to go after A Certain Bar - has been solved. : . A certain platterman Mark . Phillips spins 'em until 3am at Quays Nightclub, 16 Quay Street (behind the bus terminal). The club is ;run! by former Sporting Life singer Cary Charlton (aka Rodent), but don't expect anything remotely Flying Nunnish. This is a high-class place, says our Gary. There's a dress code i roughly equivalent to that of Mainstreet and a couple of burly bouncers to keep the riff-raff out. With, as always, the reader at heart, RIU did some on-the-spot consumer research. The club is spacious arid well-ventilated with a good dancefloor and lots of mirrors (many people find this important). But the PA definitely
needs beefing up, preferably with some big bass bins. At present it's open Wednesday to Saturday. Getting in will cost you a cool $4 on weekend nights but the drink prices are reasonable by nightclub standards. RB
