6. Endowments. —The endowments of 30,000 acres continue to yield an insignificant amount of rent. In the year 1899 the rent amounted to £236 11s. 9d., the outlay to £45 19s. 7. Degrees and Honours. —The degrees and honours gained at the last November examinations of the New Zealand University are as follows : Master of Arts Degree, second-class honours, 1. Honours in Science —First-class, 2 ; second-class, 1. Senior Scholarships, 2. Bachelor of Laws— First section, 3 ; second section, 2. Degree of Bachelor of Science, 3. Degree of Bachelor of Arts, 5.
