DEFENCE FORCES OF NEW ZEALAND: LIST OF THE PRIVILEGES AND ENCOURAGEMENTS GIVEN TO VOLUNTEERS AS SUCH UNDER EXISTING REGULATIONS.

List of the Privileges and Encouragements given to Volunteers as such under Existing Regulations. (August, 1908.)

Every efficient member of a Cadet corps receives a free allowance of 100 rounds ball ammunition per annum, and is also allowed to purchase another 100 rounds at 5s. per hundred Allowances to officers for attendance at manoeuvres or "manoeuvre" camps, provided half strength of corps is present; Lieut.-Colonel, £1 Is., per diem, with forage allowance for horse ; Major, 18s.; Surgeon-Captain, 18s.; Captain, 15s.; Lieutenant, lis.; Adjutant, 3s. 6d. (in addition to pay for his rank); Quartermaster, 13s. 6d.; Staff-Sergeants, 8s.; Sergeants, 6s.; Corporals; 5s.; Trumpeters or Buglers, 4s. ; Gunners, Sappers, and Privates, 4s.
