Charles (New Zealand) three times New Zealand Open champion, a former British Open winner, and one of the world’s top players today; T. Weiskopf, one of the very best American professionals, with a steady record of success; J. M. Lister (New Zealand) runner-up in the Classic last year and a particularly aggressive young player; K. D. G. Nagle, last year’s winner and seven times New Zealand champion; P. W. Thomson, New Zealand Open winner eight times, five times British Open title-holder and one of the great figures of post-war golf.
