MISS RUTH DREYER, a former nurse at Guy’s Hospital, London, who has been appointed chief, nursing officer of the London County Council. She takes up her appointment in July, when the new health scheme comes into force. Miss Dreyer will he in charge of 3000 nurses and midwives in 28 London boroughs and the City. Her job will he to co-ordinate all health and home-help schemes, interview and select nurses and midwives, and to supervise them. She is now matron-in-chief at the London County Council's County Hall, London.
