A PREFABRICATED HOTEL ROOM being lifted into position on the new Hilton Palacio del Rio Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. A total of 496 pre-cast rooms, completely furnished and ready for occupation, will be installed in the same way, at an average rate of 17 a day. The piece of machinery on top of the unit is a propeller system which stabilises the unit against wind currents while it is being swung through the air by crane.

NEW ZEALAND ROOM FOR HONG KONG HOTEL.—The illustration shows a selection of the contemporary furnishings and works of art created for the Hilton Hotel, Hong Kong. The New Zealand Room will he one of the hotel's conference rooms. The tables and chain were designed by Milan Mkrush, of Auckland, and executed in kauri by Vono (N.Z), Ltd. In the background is the “collage” by Louisa Henderson, of Auckland—a vividly coloured mosaic in woollen carpet, 20 feet long, which will decorate an entire wall.

The building, on the Park and Castlereagh Street corner, is opposite the new Bond Skytower project and adjacent to the Hilton Hotel, Town Hall and RJI’s future Sydney headquarters, the Gresham Building.
