INVERCARGILL ELECTION.
Mr J. A. Hanan, one ot the candidates for the Invercargill seat, addressed the electors in the Theatre Royal on Tuesday evening, and had a most flattering reception a house packed to the doors, bouquets, repeated rounds of applause, and finally an enthusiastic and-practically unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. Mr Hanan, who spoke with great fluency and at considerable length, discussing in turn the leading questions of the day, avowed himself a supporter of the present Grovernment. At the close of his remarks there were calls for Mr J. G-. Ward, and that gentleman, who was cordially received, also addressed the meeting.
