RECORD PRODUCTION THIS YEAR LONDON, Aug. 16. British car manufacturers broke production and export records in the first six months of this year, by producing 262,500 cars and 135,000 trucks and buses. Announcing these figures, the British Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders said that 100,00 more cars were produced in the first six months of this year than in the corresponding period of 1949. Out of the record production, 110,000 cars have been allotted to the home market, which has 1,000,000 orders.
