THIRD INGLESIDE

ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME The third ingleside of the Ashburton County Scottish Society’s season was held in the Radiant Hall on Tuesday. There was a large attendance of members, and a very successful evening’s entertainment was enjoyed. Chieftain Twamley expressed thanks to all the performers. Chief T. McGregor, who was in the chair, outlined to members the conditions in regard to the purchase of the Radiant Hall. The following programme was presented: Selection, Pipe Band; Highland Reel, Pam Childs, Shirley Wakelin, Flora and Lorna Payne;, song, Mr K. Lochhead; selections, Harmonica Band; elocution. Miss Robinson; Sword Dance, M. Raymond; pipe\ solo, Piper M. Hansen; female impersonation, Mr McLaughlan; selections, Harmonica Band; song, Mrs H. Donaldson; Irish Jig, P. Adams: selections. Harmonica Band; skipping-rope dance, Zarlene Niven; selections, Pipe Band. Mrs J. Whyte was the accompanist. Dancing, to Mrs Gordon’s orchestral followed. Messrs Chilton, Thompson and Twamley ivere masters of ceremonies.
