FINE AND SUNNY
After a frost of 10. G degrees in Ash burton this morning the sun appeared and temperatures improved as the day progressed, until by' 1 o’clock this afternoon conditions were very pleasant. Other recordings taken at 9 o’clock this morning were: Maximum temper ature 49.6 degrees, minimum 27 degrees, earth 37.2 degrees, barometer 29.70 inches. The sun shone for 1.2 hours yesterday. FINE AND FROSTY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: An anti-cyclone centred near Tasmania extends on to New Zealand. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to midnight to-morrow is: Light, to moderate south-west to westerly winds: weather fine and frosty. Outlook - similar conditions.
