JUDY GARLAND CUTS HER THROAT

Wound Not Serious (Rec. 10.50) SAN FRANCISCO, June 20 The film actress Judy Garland cyt her throat in a fit of anguish in her studio, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer announced to-day. The studio spokesman said the wound was not serious. Judy Garland broke a drinking glass in a bathroom and made a superficial laceration on her throat. The actress rushed into the bathroom of her Hollywood home and locked the door after she became despondent and hysterical during a meeting at which her business future was being discussed. Judy Garland’s husband, Vincent Minelli, persuaded the actress to open the door. A doctor who was called did not find it necessary to stitch the wound. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer suspended Judy Garland last week for failing to attend a rehearsal of a picture.
