FLIGHT ACROSS TASMAN

PLANS OF MR A. J. BRADSHAW SYDNEY, June 20. Mr A. J. Bradshaw and his wife and son arrived at Mascot aerodrome, Sydney, this afternoon from England in the single-engined Proctor monoplane which .he intends to fly to Hobart and thence to Invercargill. He said that the trip was just a pleasure trip which they had intended to do, “more or less secretly.” He would survey the weather position and if the winds were not favourable he would make the Tasman crossing via Norfolk Island. Mr Bradshaw maintained that the flight from Hobart was not as hazardous as it appeared. “Actually there are strong tail winds,” he added, “and as I have a 1500 mile range with my extra fuel tank, the Proctor will do it comfortably—but it may he a bit cold down there.”

The sea route from Hobart to Bluff it 940 nautical miles.
