FLOODS IN N.S.W.
HEAVY LOSSES REPORTED . (Rec. 10.55) SYDNEY, This Day. Floods which have devastated hundreds of mid-west pastoral holdings in the last week have caused loss of stock worth hundreds of thousands of pounds. Graziers at Forbes,. Condobolin and Nyngan have reported losing more than 130,000 sheep through drowning and the blowfly strike. - t Market gardeners last week estimated losses of potato, root and vegetable crops in the. recent floods at nearly £1,000,000. In addition, the floods in the midwest have reduced this season’s wheat acreage by 350,000 acres.
