CRICKET

SOUTHLAND ’S POOR EFFORT (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, March 15. Australia beat Southland by an innings and 37 runs in a two-day cricket match which finished at Rugby Park to-day. Iverson, the Australian spin t bowler, again dominated the day’s play, and in taking 11 wickets for 22 runs during the match he brought his tally for the tour to the 50 mark. Australia took its overnight score of 86 for one wicket to 154 for four' wickets when the was declared closed.
