TOWN BOARD
TINWALD RATES COLLECTED The monthly meeting of the Tinwald Town Board was held last evening. Mr H. B. Millicnamp (chairman) presided. It was resolved ,to give provisional approval of the town-planning scheme for Timvald, subject to the proviso that no roads be closed without the sanction of the Tinwald Board.
It was decided to request the Post and Telegraph Department to erect a , letter box at the corner of the Main South road and Agnes Street, as at present it is necessary for residents to cross the railway line to post letters at the postal box at the railway station. It was decided also to install an additional street light at the corner of Harland and James Streets.
The question of improvements to the footpath on the Main South road was discussed, and it was decided to obtain estimates of the cost of kerbing of the path from Johnstone Street to Carter’s Terrace.
The Clerk reported that of a total of £1444 4s 2d struck in rates, only £2O 4s 2d (about 1.3 per cent.) was outstanding, and would incur the 10 per cent, penalty.
