DISPUTE OVER AID TO REFUGEES
PERU SEVERS RELATIONS WITH CUBA ■ i LIMA (Peru), Aug. 20. The Government of Peru broke off diplomatic relations with Cuba on Friday in protest against the alleged actions of the Cuban Embassy in aiding two Peruvian political refugees to flee from the country.
A Note by the Foreign Minister, Senor Ernesto Rodriguez, charged that the Cuban Government had taken ‘‘unprecedented steps” in helping two former Presidents of the Peruvian Chamber of Deputies, Senor Ferhando Leon de Vivero and Senor Pedro Muniz, to escape to Cuba.
