“MIXTURE OF MAORI AND EUROPEAN’”
HONOLULU, April 10. Sir Peter Buck, Director of the Bishop Museum, who has recently returned from a visit to. the Dominion, told d meeting of the Institute of Pacific Relations that the future New Zealand would be a mixture of European and M-aori blood, combining the best features of each.

New Zealand Labour Party for many of the striking advances made by the Maori people since lie left the Doipinion in. 1927. “My . own Liberal Party wg§ shortsighted and parsimonious Smd the Maoris suffered as a result,” he,said. “Since then the Maoris have, made incredible strides, for which I< credit the Labour Party.” The Swedish Royal Order of the North Star was recently conferred on Sir Peter, Buck, The honour,'which is the highest,- awarded by. Sweden to a foreign civilian, is given for services to science and. literature.
