TOLL OF QUAKE
NORTH-WEST AMERICAN DISASTER NEW YORK, April 14. The death roll in an earthquake in North-West America is now given at 8, and the estimated damage may reach 10,000,000 dollars. The shock was felt in four NorthWest American States and British Columbia, but was heaviest in the Puget Sound area. Every one .of eight buildings in the State Capitol group at Olympia, Washington, was damaged while in other cities the walls of'concrete buildings cracked, cornices fell, fire escapes were ripped loose and windows and water mains broken. ,
