SOVIET PRESS ATTACK
SCANDINAVIAN DEFENCE PLANS
(Rec. 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 12. The Swedish Ambassadors in London and Moscoav have been called to Stockholm to discuss Scandinavian military defences. The Oslo radio said to-day that the Danish, SAvedish and Norwegian defence chiefs met again in Oslo to-day, and their talks are likely to continue to-morroAv, the radio also said. Reuter’s Moscoav, correspondent today quotes the “Soviet Literary Gazette” us saying that the Soviet people “cannot tolerate the striving of NorAvay’s Right-Wing Socialists to advance a military bloc toAvards the northern borders of the Soviet Union.” The “Gazette” said that Halvard Lange (Foreign Affairs Minister) started every speech by attacking the Soviet Union, ending by lauding the Atlantic bloc. He Avas glad to help the United' States in theftr desire to get military bases in Norway and to conclude an agreement to establish American guns near the Soviet-Nor-Avegian border. The “Gazette” also attacked Jens ITauge (Defence Minister) who “prepares for a spread to Nonvay of the American regime established in Greenland and Iceland.”
