INDOOR BOWLING
R.S.A. CLUB MEETING r The annual meeting of the R.S.A. Indoor Bowling' Club was held last evening at the clubrooms, Mr L. L. Aitken, president, presided over an attendance of 17 members. \ The president’s annual report was read and adopted. ( i In liis ; report Mr Aitken mentioned the progress made during t*he year, and the excellent competition that had resulted, not only in ordinary games on club nights but also in the competition games and in matches with other organisations. The club’s finances were ill a satisfactory-condition, and Mr Aitken explained that during the year the method of running the club finances on a separate basis was altered, and club funds now become part of the general funds of the R.S.A. He complimented the ladies’ section on the progress they had made, and on the healthy financial results. The ladies’ section had contributed about half of the year’s financial surpluei Mr W. McKie replied and moved a vote of thanks to Mr Aitken for his report, and the work done during the year. Mr W. V. Joyce spoke congratulating the indoor howling section on the progress made both financially and from the social viewpoint, stressing also, the excellent relationship between the section and the R.S.A. executive. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr W. McKie; senior vicepresident, Mr R. Geering; junior vicepresident, Mr J. Maxwell; honorary secretary, Mr J. Simpson; committee, Mr L. Aitken (retiring president), exofficio, and the following members, Messrs C. Gowans, T. Timlin, J. Mum ro, J. Wilkinson, R. Clemens, B. Wilkie, H. McLean, T. Hewson, W. V. Joyce, i Thanks were expressed to Messrs D. A. Moore and E. C. J. Stewart for the work done by them during the year to the rinks without cost to the club. After discussion 1 of sundry minor matters, the meeting closed with a, vote of thanks to the chairman. It was arranged to hold the opening night in conjunction with the ladies’ section on Wednesday evening, April 14.
