BIBLE CLASS CAMP

S. Canterbury Methodists ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME Members of the South Canterbury Methodist Bible Class Fellowship have been - in camp at Ashburton over Easter, the young men at the Showgrounds and the young women at the Ashburton East School and hall. The visitors came to Ashburton from as far south as Oamaru, including Timaru, Waimate, Geraldine, and Temuka. They have all proved themselves. very keen, helpful, and xvilling to enter into all camp activities. The campers arrived on Thursday and left to-day the closing sessions at 1.30 p,m. Varied and extensive programmes have been enjoyed at both camps. Both groups had their photographs taken as a record, the young men on Friday and the girls on Satm-day morning. A highlight ’of Saturday’s programme was the combined concert held at 7 p.m. Items were given by visitors from many districts, and £6 10s was collected to go toward the establishment of a permanent South Canterbury camp site. Hymn tests, study circles, sports contests, services, speeches, rambles and lectures were among the many items on the programmes arranged for both camps. The officers at both camps worked hard in arranging the interesting and instructive programmes, and were rewarded by the knowledge that the visitors thoroughly enjoyed themselves during their -stay at Ashburton. , , . i Sports The following are the results of the young men’s sports held on Saturday afternoon: — Senior —100 Yds.: G.
