Successful Annual Fixture LARGE PROGRAMME OF EVENTS The Ashburton County School Sports Association held their 41st annual sports meeting in the Domain yesterday. The weather was perfect, -the grounds were in good order and the entries were well up to usual. Mr J. T. Thomas (president) expressed his gratification at the keenness of the children, and also his appreciation of the valuable help given by the committee and officials. One of the most successful sports days had ended, and though they had been unable to lipid the grand parade, they would undoubtedly have one next year. At the invitation of the president, the; Mayor (Mr E. C. Bathurst) presented the trophies. Before doing to, Mr Bathurst complimented Mr Thomas on; his many years of service with the association. He also remarked on the keenness of the children, stating that if .they showed such keen sportsmanship when they were adults, as they did now, they would make fine citizens, He expressed his regret at the absence of the fine athletes of the Eiffelton School.
