One on .the Judge Welderi , Graves stood before a judge in Highland, New York, and was sentenced to 15 days in gaol for disorderly., conduct. After he had been taken away the judge noticed his desk clock missing. Weldon got ten more days for petty larceny. Fat for Britain The publicity committee of the Aid-for-Britain National Council is at present considering the making of a short film to encourage fat-saving schemes. It is intended to show how fat collection can best be organised, and it is possible that the scheme being operated by Mr Philip Barling, in Dunedin, will serve as a basis. Brides to be Fined Brides who turn up more than five minutes late for their wedding at Emmanuel Church, Loughborough, England, will have in future to pay a fine of ss. Announcing the pern alty, the rector, the Rev. Harold Mar ley, says-. “I understand that there is a superstition that it is bad luck to be on time. The woman who be j lieves in such pagan rubbish ought not to be married in a Christian church at all.”-
