WIN FOR KIWIS

Good Victory Over Leeds (Rec. 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 12. The NeAv Zealand Rugby League team beat Leeds by 23 points to 16. At half-time New Zealand led 18-0. Reuter’s reports that 8000 saw the Kiwis open the scoring against Leeds at Hunslet after 18 minutes’ play. A fine passing burst in which most of the Kiwis handled resulted in Anderson scoring near the posts. Nuttall goaled. Aynsley created an opening for McGregor to score in the corner and Nuttal, from the touchline, added a brilliant goal. Mcßride sold a dummy in masterly style and raced over for the Kiwis’ third try, which Nuttall again coiwerted. Just before halftime Jordan scored the -fourth Kiwi try, but Nuttall missed the goal. Leeds were not in the picture, and seemed unable to check the Kiwis during a hectic 20 minutes before halftime, when the Kiwis made repeated assaults on the Leeds line. Conditions Avere ideal for a fast, open passing game, but the high wind, reaching gale force at -times, made kicking tricky. Leeds showed improved form on resuming Avith the Avind behind them. They got a fair share of the ball from the scrummages and from melees. Whitehead darted over for. an unconverted try. The Australian forward Clues, playing a fine game for Leeds, bullocked his way over the Kiwi’s line for a try near the posts, and Whitehead added the goal. The Kiwis got back to their first half form after this Leeds rally. Barchard picked up a loose ball near the Leeds line and cut through the defence to score a try between the posts. Nuttall added the goal. The Australian Avinger Kenny then scored a spectacular try for Leeds. Intercepting a Khvi pass he found himself Avith a clear run except for the fullback. Kenny swerved at top speed past the fullback and scored between the posts for Whitehead ■ to goal. Just before the final Avhistle Leeds came again and Brereton scored an unconverted try.
