% APPLICATIONS AT ASHBURTON ALL DECISIONS RESERVED Five applications to sell house properties came before to-day’s sitting of the Canterbury Rural Land Sales Committee at Ashbur- . ton. Generally speaking, there was not a great discrepancy in i valuations for the Crown and vendor, but in one instance the respective figures were £I4OO and £I7G4. All decisions were reserved. Messrs W. Keppel (for the Crown) valued it at £790 and Mr Wm. Thomas (for the vendor) placed the value at £968. On the 1936 valuation roll, the value was shown as £725. Decision was reserved. Sale of house property at 14 Fairfield Avenue from the same vendor (Mr Kennedy) to Eric Jack Daniel (Mr A. C. Robinson), of Ashburton. The price asked was £990, the Crown valuation £845 and the vendor’s valuation (by Mr Wm. Thomas) £IOOB. On the 1936 valuation roll the value was given as £735. In 1523 the property was sold tor £875 and on the 1938 valuation roll the value was shown as £555. Decision was reserved. i Property For Exchange Sale of house property at the intersection of Winter’s and Belt Roads, Ashburton, from the Rev. Angus McBean (Mr C. G. de C. Drury), of Ashburton, to Mrs Ethel Winifred Johnstone, of Christchurch. The house comprises four main rooms, kitchenette and outbuildings, on an'area of 1 rood 0.4 perches. It was sold for £I4OO in 1939, since when an electric range and hot water service, and a new septic tank have been installed. The price asked is £I7OO, the Crown valuation £I4OO and the vendor’s valuation (by Mr J. Trevor Thomas) £1764. The 1936 valuation roll figure was £1125. Approval of the price is being sought in order that it may be exchanged for a house property in Christchurch. Decision was reserved. Sale of house property at 21 Andrew Street, Ashburton, from George L. Knox, of Ashburton, to Robert J. Knox, of Ashburton. Mr A. C. Robinson appeared for both parties. The dwelling, on a section of 1 rood 39.5 perches, was erected for- £1075 in 1928. The pi’ice asked was £I4OO. the Crown valuation £llBO, and the vendor’s valuation (by Mr R. F. Lynn) £1409. On the valuation roll of 1936, the value of the property was £795. Decision was reserved.
