FALL FROM TRUCK

TWO UNRELATED FATALITIES (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 27. Falls from motor lorries resulted in two deaths at the -weekend. The accidents were not related. Cyril Pierpont Brimble, 48, of Churton Crescent, Taita, died in the Hutt Hospital to-day. Another victim, Edward Frank Law, aged 11, Wainui Road, Lower Hutt, died on his way to hospital at 11.30 a.m. on Saturday. Brimble was found unconscious at the corner of Oxford Terrace, Lower Hutt, at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday. He was on his way home, riding alone on the tray of a truck when lie . apparently fell as the vehicle • was rounding a corner. The driver was unaware of the mishap. Brimble was a former Canterbury representative Rugby League player, and also played for the Newton Club, Auckland. He was married with one child. (Brimble is a brother-in-law of Mr IG. Lowry, Beach Road, Ashburton). The boy, Law, was a passenger on the tray of a lorry going south along the Waiwhetu Road. His father and another person were also on the tray. As the truck turned from Waiwhetu Road into Porutu Street the boy. wlio was standing, overbalanced and fell on to the road, receiving fatal injuries. i TRUCK OVERTURNED CHINAMAN KILLED (P.A.) HASTINGS, April 2G. Fatal injuries were received by a Chinese when the truck in which he was travelling overturned near the Waitangi Bridge on the Napier-Hast-ings highway at 11.30 a.m. yesterday. He was Charles Thackery Clian, aged 54, married, of Hastings. As far as it is known Chan’s wife lives in China.' He has tivo sons in New Zealand, one of whom was driving the truck when the accident occurred. The son escaped injury. THROWN FROM HORSE i DEATH OF YOUNG WOMAN (P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 27. Head injuries which proved fatal were suffered by a woman who was thrown from her horse at Rotorua this afternoon. The victim was Miss Dorothy Lillian May Woollacott, aged 28, a daughter of Mr B. S. Woollacott, of Stanley Bay, Auckland.
