POWER OF LABOUR LEADERS
SERIOUS PROBLEM IN AMERICA (Rec. 11 a.m.) NEW YORK. Dec. 4. The United States’ most serious problem is labour management relations, said the Secretary of Commerce, Mr Averell Harriman, addressing tire National Association of Manufacturers’ annual meeting. ' “The power of labour leaders lias grown to a point where we find one man defying the Government and the nation,” said Mr Harriman, “and therefore measures will be submitted to Congress to clarify the relationship between the rights of labour, unions and their responsibility to the public.”
