SATISFACTORY STATE
CREDIT IN R.S.A. BUILDING FUND REPORT TO EXECUTIVE “The building fund is showing a credit. It is very nice indeed. We are very grateful to all who helped to make this possible by donations and hard work,” said the president (Mr W. V. Joyce) at the monthly meeting of the executive of the Ashburton Returned Services’ Association last evening, when Mr S. Cplverhouse announced that the building fund stood in credit to the extent of £2424 15s 6d, the club account £IG2 3s 4d and the R.S.A. account £1330 6s lid, as at November 30.
As. a result of the women’s rose show a cheque for £95 towards the building fund had been received, said Mr W. G. Welsh, chairman of the building committee. The president expressed pleasure at the effort, and it was decided to write to the women’s section congratulating then; on the success of the show. Mr Welsh expressed thanks to all of the sub-branches for their assistance in the queen carnival appeal for funds. The thanks of the old Canterbury Mounted Rifles iffegiment (Ist N.Z.E.F.) for use of the club rooms and' co-operation in holding the memorial service in honour of the late Colonel J. Findlay, was contained in a letter from Mr F. A. Hickman. ; The Christchurch Association acknowledged a receipt of £6 6s from Ashburton for its Rose Day appeal. The president thanked members of the executive for their co-operation during his period of "office to date and wished them the compliments of the season.
