COOL, WITH LIGHT CLOUDS The, sky in Ashburton to-day was rather 1 clouded and the atmosphere was cool. The maximum temperature yesterday, was. 63.5 degrees, against 56.2 on Tuesday. The screen minimum last night was 48.2 degrees, while on the previous night it was 36.3 degrees. The barometer showed little change, registering 29'89’ inches, against 29.9 yesterday. Observations at Radar Station Relative humidity at the radar research station at 9.30 this mornmg was 87 per cent., while the barometer registered 29.69 inches. The maximum temperature yesterday was 64 degrees and the screen minimum last night 46.8 degrees. *
OUTLOOK FAIR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — General situation-. A weak depression is moving east off northern New Zealand, and an anti-cyclone is advancing from the Tasman Sea. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oaniaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: Moderate south - westerly winds, tending to easterly to-morrow; weather fair to cloudy; temperatures moderate. Further outlook: Fair.
