ASHBURTON AMATEUR CLUB REVIVED

ELECTION OF OFFICERS It was proposed to re-form the Ashburton Amateur Swimming Club, which has been in recess during the last years of the war, at a meeting ot those interested last evening. The club decided to make, formal application for reaffiliation with the Ashburton Swimming Centre. Officers elected were: Patron, Mr W. H. Woods; president, Mr R, McGregor; club captain, Mr A. Lewis; vice-captain. Mr T. Timms; secretary, Mr Iv. R. Hunter; assistant-secre-tary, Mr St-ayt; treasurer, Mr E. Bropliy; auditor, Mr J. Keig; committee, Mrs A. H. Martin, Misses A. Collins, M. Denley and E. Lloyd, Messrs B. Bobbie. A. H. Mar till, G. Randall, J. Milsom and J. Denley ; delegates to the Ashburton Swimming Centre, Messrs Bropliy, Stayt and Mrs Martin. Twelve vice-presidents were elected. The president, secretary and Mr Randall were -appointed to inspect the. building and materials at the Ashburton Borough School baths. It was left in the hands of the committee to appoint a coach. The meeting decided to hold the club’s annual ) carnival on February 8.
