DIVORCE GRANTED
SIR CLAUDE AUCHINLECK LONDON, Dec. IS. General Sir Claude Auchinleck, Commander-in-Chief in India, was granted a divorce at the Sussex Assizes yesterday. Sir Claude’s friend, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Peirse, former R.A.F. Commander-in-Chief in India, was citecj as co-respondent. Sir Claude Auchinleck’s icase was that his wife became friendly with the co-respondent when they were serving together in India and later stayed with Sir Richard Peirse at a Brighton Hotel after their return from India. The Court awarded costs against the co-respondent.
Sixty-one-years-old Sir Claude Auchinleck married Miss Jessie Stewart in 1921.
