SALVATION ARMY BAND
VISIT TO WELLINGTON PLANNED Tlie Ashburton t Salvation Army Band will leave for Wellington on Friday, when it will take part in the National Congress of the Salvation Army. The hand will take part in a musical festival in the Wellington Town Hall on Saturday evening, with 11 other Salvation Army Bands. On Sunday the band will lead parades of various sections.of Salvation Army activities, through the city, and will provide music before the united devotional service in the morning. On Monday the band will be among those to. give a marching display at Newtown -Park. Members are paying their own travelling expenses, and no appeal for expenses will he necessary. The band will be the guests of the Wellington Citadel Band, which visited Ashburton last October. The Ashburtonians will return home on Tuesday morning.
