SUPPLY OF MILK.

OPINION OF THE MAYOR. ACTION TO ENSURE CONTINUITY. That action of some sort would have to be taken to ensure continuation of the'supply of milk to vendors retailing in Ashburton was the opinion expressed to-day by the Mayor. Mr Bathurst said he had been informed by two vendors this morning that their source of supply would probably be cut off by the end of next week. A third vendor had stated that his supplier would be unable to let him have any more milk after about two or three weeks, having been called up for service. There was a possibility of getting milk from another source, but difficulty was anticipated in bridging the time gap between the existing and prospective supplies.
