HIGH TEMPERATURE YESTERDAY. e The temperature at. Ashburton yesterday was 82.5 degrees, the highest since 8-1.1 degrees on the hottest day in February, on the first of that month. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: A series of westerly depressions is commencing to pass in the south. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.in. to-morrow is as follows: .
