THE PRESBYTERY.

STUDENT FOR THE MINISTRY. The bi-monthly meeting of the Ashburton Presbytery was presided over by the Moderator (the Rev. R. W. Brown). Motions of sympathy with Mr T. E. Watt in the death of his brother, and with the relatives of Mrs E. Marshall were carred.

An invitation was received from the Timaru Presbytery to attend a retreat at Timaru from Monday to Thursday next week.

Mr W. B. Glassev, a pupil of the Ashburton High School, was accepted as a student for the ministry. The Moderator spoke appreciatively of his work anti wished him success.

Appreciative reference was made to good contacts 'made with, and the enthusiastic meetings held by the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand (the Rev. T. C. Brash) when lie visited the countv.
