SERIOUSLY INJURED.
AIRMAN STRUCK BY CAR. ACCIDENT IN EAST STREET. After being knocked down by a motor-car outside the Ashburton railway station at about 7..>0 p.m. yesterday, Flight-Sergeant H. A. Boniface, a warrant-officer attached to an Air Force station at Ashburton, was admitted to the Ashburton Public Hospital suffering from serious injuries to his back. Although he passed a fairly comfortable night he was reported by the hospital authorities today to be still dangei*ously ill.
Flight-Sergeant Boniface is a married man, aged 47, and his home is in Gisborne. When the accident occurred he was crossing East Street in the direction of the railway station and was struck by a car travelling north, driven by Mrs C. Hanson, of Tancred Street, Ashburton.
