A THICK MIST THIS MORNING.
A thick mist' covered Ashburton early this morning, but soon cleared. The sky was dull aiid ov'ereast during the morning, hut the sun shone in the afternoon.
The thermometer registered a maximum of 65.8 degrees yesterday, against 61 on Tuesday. The minimum was 35.5 (33.1). The barometer dropped 14 points to 30.01 inches this morning from 30.15 yesterday.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows*.— Moderate north-easterly winds predominating. Weather fair to fine apart from morning fog. Cold night, moderate to mild day temperatures. Further outlook: Fair.
