HIGH TRIBUNAL.
VATICAN AND UNITED STATES. WASHINGTON, October 7. Pope Pius has conferred on. the American Catholic Church for the first time in its liistory power to function as a sacred Homan rota, which is,the Church’s'highest judicial tribunal. ' The authority has been granted for three years because of the difficulties of wartime communications between America and the Vatican. The great bulk of rota cases involve questions of matrimonial validity. These will now bo decided in America.
