WORK UNDER FIERCE HEAT. (Received, this day, 11.50 a.m.) CHUNGKING, Oct. 7. Before leaving for an undisclosed destination Mr Wendell Willkie conferred with Marshal Chiang Kai-Shek .for the fifth time, making a total of 10 hours conference. Madame Chiang did most of the interpreting.. Mr Willki’e’s visit coincided with a freak; heat spell. A foreign office official attached to Mr Willkie gasped when he entered the office and found Mr Willkie sitting naked at a desk, preparing a statement. '
